Meet the
Student Teacher

Hafa Adai!
My name is Mr. Alvin Borja and I am a student at the Northern Marianas College (NMC). A bit about myself; I recently graduated with an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Liberal Arts and now I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Education, emphasis in Elementary Education concentration. I am in the final course of my educational study to attain my Bachelor’s degree and will be graduating in MAY 2013. Also, I have passed PRAXIS I and am preparing to take PRAXIS II in this month, a requirement for the Teaching Profession in the CNMI. Moreover, I am an employee for the CNMI Public School System as a teacher aide at San Vicente Elementary School (SVES).
During my practicum I, under the supervision of Ms. Sherwin Mendiola, have taught children for 16 weeks until the completion of my practicum experience. Becoming a teacher is hardwork and the expectations for the best interest of your child is important. I had the greatest opportunity to work with Ms. Sherwin and her fantastic 28 students. As I move into my own classroom I look forward to providing the best quality education each child will need to grow – mentally and physically.
