Technology In The Classroom

iPads

iPad inspires creativity and hands-on learning with features you won’t find in any other educational tool — on a device that students really want to use. Powerful apps from the App Store like iTunes U and iBooks let students engage with content in interactive ways, find information in an instant, and access an entire library wherever they go.

Laptops

Laptop computers are small personal computers designed for using on the move. They usually have all the functions of a desktop computer but are portable space-savers. I use a laptop in the classroom to deliver lessons to students through power point presentations, movies, online interactive activities.

Projector

Projectors enable teachers to create PowerPoint presentations or other highly organized notes for the class. With the use of projectors in the classroom, students can take better notes with the ability to discern what information the teacher displays is most useful to them. Projectors display brighter, larger, colorful quality images that captures the students attention to learn.

Elmo

In a classroom where students and teachers give presentations, this feature comes in handy if the school allows media devices, such as USB flash drives. With today's evolving technology, Elmo keeps pace by allowing connections with various devices and displays of three-dimensional objects

Class Dojo

ClassDojo is a classroom tool that helps teachers improve behavior in their classrooms quickly and easily. This tool helps students develop a sense of purpose in the classroom, enhancing intrinsic motivation over time. By giving students visibility and data on their own behavior, ClassDojo makes class less disruptive and creates a more positive learning environment.

Desktop Computers

Using computers make learning more fun. When using the internet, students have access to volumes of information in many types of formats which is lacking in traditional textbooks. They can also engage in diverse projects that are very interesting. When using computers in the classroom, lessons become fun and interesting instead of a boring chore. Computer technology provides information and experiences that books are not able to provide.

BrainPop Jr.

BrainPOP Jr. is a pay site that creates online animated curriculum-based content that is aligned to state education standards. BrainPOP Jr. targets kids in kindergarten to third grade. Kids don't need proficient reading skills to use this audio-heavy site. Lessons all begin with a brief video and include a wide variety of school and life topics. The site includes video, game, quiz, and activity sections for science, health, writing, reading, social studies, and math based on national education standards.

BrainPop

BrainPOP is a paid subscription site (with some free content available to anyone) that contains animated content, much of which is aligned to state education standards. BrainPOP is designed for kids in fourth grade and up. Lessons begin with a brief animated video and include a wide variety of school- and life-related topics, some that are difficult but handled quite sensitively, including lessons on terrorism, war, sexual reproduction, and alcoholism.

Accelerated Reader

I'm a One of the world's most popular reading programs. This program motivates my  students to read and assess their overall understanding of the books that they are reading.  Students read at their own level and at their own pace. The tool is very effective for motivating and monitoring  a student's individual reading progress.

Classroom Performance System  (Clickers)

CPS Spark™ is the most recent radio-frequency student response system available. It offers an easy-to-use interface that makes it simple and more intuitive to use. The clickers provides the teacher and students immediate feedback. Another great tool of teachers to access student learning. As for students, it an intuitive way to access what they learned in the classroom.
